Two beautiful new picnic tables were dropped off at Brewer Park on June 22. They are under the picnic shelter. I was so excited to see them. Unfortunately many of the nuts holding the tables together were loose (I tightened a number with my fingers the best I could), several of the nuts appeared to have already fallen off. In the photo I am holding one of the nuts.
The tables need to be gone over with a socket wrench and tightened up, or they will be at risk of rapidly falling apart.
Also they were not stained. The white wood has been a popular canvas for local artists. It is now covered with graffiti including sexual descriptions, foul language and phone numbers.
The tables need a coat of dark stain like all the other tables in the park.

I was called by a City Manager the next day. A worker was sent out that day and the nuts were (mostly) replaced with lock nuts that won't loosen up. The top of the table was then given a coat of brown stain the next day. It is unfortunate it was not done correctly the first time, but City Staff fixed the situation right away when it was pointed out to them. Credit to them.
